Mitchell Saulisbury-Robertson

Assistant Director of Social Behavioral Research & Expedited Review

Mitchell has been with the Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) since March of 2013, where he has led the extremely knowledgeable and dedicated expedited review team. Additionally, he serves as the point of contact for social behavioral researchers, meets with investigators from both campuses to address pre-submission questions, issues or other concerns related to the expedited review process.

Mitchell first interacted with the IRB as a regulatory coordinator at the Northwestern Center for Clinical Research, which eventually dissolved to become a part of the NUCATS Center for Clinical Research (CCR). That experience opened a whole new perspective on human subjects research protection and paved the way to becoming IRB manager of the biomedical IRB at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Previous research positions include working briefly as a psychiatric rater at WashU and as data manager and community outreach educator at the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center.

Outside of the office, Mitchell enjoys taking advantage of Missouri’s state parks and the many opportunities that St. Louis offers in music and art. While he doesn’t sing in any ensembles, he enjoys attending performances by the Bach Society, St. Louis Symphony Chorus and a recently formed vocal ensemble, called Continuum, which performs in different local venues in St. Louis.
